The 12-14 large was tight on my hips and the 14-16 XL fit looser on my hips but both fit me, I just preferred the looser fit on my hips. My bust is 40D, my waist is 34 inches and hips are 46 inches. I am 5 feet 6 inches tall and the dress does cover my knees for a perfect church friendly and sit down length to give modest coverage of the legs.
